Why is it Kentucky is doing so well with offering world class trophy bucks? I’m not exactly sure, but I will take a stab at it. First off, most of Kentucky, if not all, only allows hunters to take one buck per year. Secondly, whitetail deer hunting has taken much longer to be commercialized and considered mainstream in the state of Kentucky as compared to other states. And lastly, I’d say because of the gun seasons being so limited to 10-14 days in some zones has really been helpful at growing bucks. I’d probabably most importantly add that due to Kentucky’s hilly terrain and humidity, it has slowed the natural urbran sprawl and developments into the country side of deer habitat.
